When J&J Snack Foods decided to launch it’s highly successful ¡Hola! Churros line of products, originally only sold to restaurants, as a new retail brand, there were some great reasons why. Now, after People magazine named ¡Hola! Churros Double Twisted Bites product as its 2024 Food Award winner, there is another reason to add them to your freezer.

Selected by the magazine as the “Best Frozen Dough” item of the year, it is another accolade for the exceptional quality and delightful taste of the globally inspired treat.

Available at Target, Giant Food Stores, Weis Markets, ShopRite, Brookeshire’s Grocery, Nugget Markets, Affiliated Foods, and Schnucks, the tailwinds for bringing frozen churros to supermarket freezers was compelling.

Already a leading provider of frozen snacks and treats with fun brands such as SuperPretzel®, Phillly Swirl®, Dippin Dots®, ICEE® and Dogster®, Osario says ¡Hola! Churros fills a void in globally inspired treats that are of particular interest to Gen Z and Millennial families.

“Churros are trend worthy and are easy for busy parents to prepare and enjoy with their kids,” says Osario. In naming ¡Hola! Churros Double Twisted Bites as its 2024 award winner, the magazine’s editors noted, “Whether baked or air-fried, the treats—tossed in cinnamon and sugar—come out crispy and golden brown.”

The ¡Hola! Churros line includes three SKUs, Double Twisted Bites, Chocolate Filled Bites, and Trolls Bites sprinkled with pink cinnamon sugar.

The launch of the ¡Hola! Churros line was supported by J&J Snack Foods with digital ads targeting moms within zip codes of participating retailer stores, shelf talkers at freezer doors where ¡Hola! Churros could be found, and a trial offer incentives through Ibotta®.
